Mirrorworks is a small family run bespoke mirror manufacturer, focusing mainly on the development of antique mirror glass.

Our spacious workshop is based in the heart of the UK, within the ancient town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. We are uniquely placed to for easy access to both Northern & Southern England.

Our newly aquired workshop has recently been re-furbished and has been thoughtfully tailored to our production requirements. Due to the ample work space and easy access, all on one level, the Mirrorworks studio is able to produce larger mirror glass products than ever before.

We are constantly working on perfecting the antique mirror finish. Collecting real antique samples to form a control library is a very important part of this research. As is testing & experimenting with the materials.

Although every custom mirror is unique, the effects must be controlled to a certain degree to fulfill client's specifications. But unexpected effects do happen & these departures often evolve in to new and beautiful finishes. I hope to devote some of this coming year to explore & prototype new finishes, which I hope, will develop in to exciting new products for 2009.

 

Mirror antiquing is an intricate technique using handcrafted processes that mimic the magic of light & movement that all antique mirror glass acquires as it ages.
